I did some studio and location work exploring skateboarding as a sub-culture (not saying that it stricly is, but broadly speaking) and the fashion associated with skateboarding culture. This really sparked an interest in fashion for me, but made me realise how much more there was to fashion than simply aesthetics. To me fashion is all about exploring a subject, and drawing your own conclusions about what it means conform to a particular trend, even if the trend is non-conformity.
This is kind of a test post, but also forms the initial ideas behind how I’m going to engage the viewers of this site, and provide an insight into my photographic practice. Where it has come from, what it has achieved, and where it is going.
